Cake, Cuddles, and a Boho Teepee: Nora is ONE!
There is something truly magical about a first birthday. It’s a celebration of a whole year of "firsts," and for the Nally family, Nora’s big milestone was nothing short of a dream. As a Central Florida family photographer, I’ve seen my fair share of cake smashes, but this outdoor boho session in the heart of our beautiful Florida greenery really took the cake (pun intended!).
A Mauve & Moss Green Dream
We started the session with some classic family portraits. Can we talk about their outfits for a second? Mom looked stunning in a flowy mauve wrap dress that caught the light perfectly, while Dad kept it classic in a neutral polo and denim. But, of course, the star of the show was Nora in her ruffled tulle dress and that dainty floral headband.
Seeing the way they look at her—the pure, unfiltered joy on Dad's face and the way Nora reaches for Mom’s hand—is exactly why I love lifestyle family photography. It’s not just about the "everyone look at the camera" shot; it’s about those quiet, giggly moments in between.
The Wild One: A Boho Teepee Birthday
For the main event, we set up the most adorable boho-themed first birthday scene. Nestled in a field of tall grass, we had:
A crisp white teepee draped in eucalyptus and peach roses.
A "ONE" sign and fluffy pampas grass.
A dainty white cake just waiting for a certain birthday girl.
Nora traded her tulle for a darling "One" romper in a rusty clay tone that popped beautifully against the Florida landscape. Whether she was crawling through her little tent or giving us the most infectious "scrunchy-face" laugh, her personality was on full display.
Smash Success
When the cake finally came out, Nora was all smiles. There is something so sweet about watching a one-year-old tentatively navigate frosting for the first time. It wasn't just a photoshoot; it was a memory made in the golden Florida sun.
