A Sweet Hello: Baby Lyla’s Lifestyle Newborn Session in Seminole County
There is something inherently magical about a home during the first few weeks of a new baby’s life. The air is a mix of lavender lotion, slightly forgotten coffee, and a whole lot of love. Recently, I had the absolute joy of visiting the Winstead family in Seminole County, Florida, to capture their first official days as a family of three (well, six, if you count the feline welcoming committee!).
The "Hello Darlin’" Nursery
Walking into Lyla’s nursery felt like stepping into a Pinterest board brought to life with actual heart. The vintage-inspired brass crib anchored the room, topped with a delicate lace canopy and a whimsical pom-pom mobile. But the showstopper? That custom "Hello Darlin’" rainbow art hanging above the rails. It’s the perfect backdrop for a little girl who is clearly the new sunshine of the house.
The Three Feline Bodyguards
Usually, when I tell clients I do pet-friendly newborn photography, they think of one well-behaved dog. The Winsteads raised the bar with three incredible cats! I’m pretty sure they’ve formed a security detail for baby Lyla. From the grey supervisor keeping a watchful eye from the sofa to the tabbies lounging nearby, these "fur-siblings" made the session feel so authentically them.
Pro-Tip: If you’re worried about your pets during a lifestyle session, don’t be! They are part of your story, and as you can see, they often steal the show in the best way possible.
Soft Moments & Big Bows
Baby Lyla was an absolute dream. Whether she was wrapped in a cozy tan swaddle against a vibrant tropical floral print or rocking a signature cream velvet bow, she was calm and curious.
Some of my favorite shots from the day weren’t the posed ones, but the quiet transitions:
Dad’s forehead kisses: Capturing the sheer scale of a father’s hands cradling a tiny newborn head.
The Rocking Chair: Mom silhouetted by the window light, just taking a breath and soaking in Lyla’s weight against her chest.
The "Big Yawn": Because let’s be honest, being this cute is exhausting.
Why Choose a Lifestyle Session?
Doing an in-home newborn session in Central Florida allows the chaos and the beauty of "real life" to shine. We didn't need a studio or complicated props—we just needed the Winsteads’ favorite corner of the couch and the natural light pouring into the nursery. These photos aren't just portraits; they are a map of what Lyla’s first home felt like.
Welcome to the world, sweet Lyla. You are so, so loved.
Say hello. Let's work together.
